Quote:Odisha Maritime Board (OMB), Paradip Port Authority (PPA) signed an MoU to establish a large-scale shipbuilding cluster on the Mahanadi riverbank, in Kendrapara, at an investment of Rs 24,700 crore.

One or more large shipyard, with a combined capacity of 1 to 1.2 million gross tonnage (GT) per year, will be built.  A dedicated waterfront of 2-2.5 km and a land area of 2,000-2,500 acres will be key components of the shipbuilding cluster.

Final location survey has been sanctioned.
