New Universities in Pipeline

In the state budget of 2026-27, as per https://sambadenglish.com/latest-news/st...a-11140259, there are plans for:

• four new universities in Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak and Jharsuguda
  
• two new engineering colleges in Paradeep and Balangir
  

In addition, there are plans for 5 world skill centers by 2036 and 7 by 2047.  278 crores have been allocated for such centers at Berhampur and Sambalpur.

There is also mention of 3 Ayurvedic medical colleges at Gajapati, Malkangiri and Rayagada, and two homeopathic medical colleges at Nayagarh and Nuapada. 140 crores have been allocated for these.
