Pages from the consolidated budget statements:
ECOR
SER
The following map extract from https://indiarailinfo.com/atlas shows that the SER part of Odisha rail network, mainly in North Odisha, will connect all the dangling lines.
I love the Atlas in this site. This is my first blog post. So forgive me if I make some protocol mistake.
Following are some suggestions on updating the Atlas with ECOR new lines that have been approved. (I am not sure what level of approval merits the Atlas to be updated.)
1. Baragarh Road - Nuapada line: Some links regarding its status and approval are at click here A twit on this by PIB is at click here It also includes a video by the Rail Minister.
2. Bhadrachalam Rd - Malkangiri: Links at click here It has received cabinet approval. Land acquisition notice for this has been issued.

Quote:In New Delhi, in the presence of Union Minister @AshwiniVaishnaw and’s Members of Parliament, detailed discussion was held regarding development of the railway sector in the state. Under the esteemed Prime Minister @narendramodi’s ‘Purvodaya Vision,’ priority has been given Odisha to strengthen railway infrastructure, with the double-engine government placing significant emphasis on. Compared to previous governments, in the last 11 years under the Modi government, Odisha has received a record amount of funds in the railway budget.
In today’s meeting, discussions were held on accelerating the work of the Jharsuguda-Barkote railway line, the new Angul-Talcher railway line, the Bargarh Road-Nuapada Road-Raipur railway line, the Talcher-Bimalagarh railway line, the much-awaited Khordha-Balangir railway line, the third and fourth railway lines between Sambalpur-Jarpada, and the vision of creating an outer coal corridor from Jarpada to Budhapank via Tentuloi.
A plan was also envisioned to connect a line from Bainda in Angul to the Balangir-Khordha line up to Boudh, which will function as a bridge. The proposed Talcher-Gopalpur railway line, connecting Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Nayagarh, and the Aska region of Ganjam, will strengthen Odisha’s railway network.
Special priority is being given to civic amenities and railway transport in Odisha’s coal-producing regions. Through these measures, railway lines will connect coal-producing areas to port regions. This will facilitate easier transportation of goods and contribute to the rapid industrialization of Odisha. Strengthening railway infrastructure will also help achieve the goal of a developed Odisha. It will further lead to progress in Odisha’s social, economic, and tourism sectors.
