Under the esteemed Prime Minister @narendramodi’s ‘Purvodaya Vision,’ priority has been given Odisha to strengthen railway infrastructure, with the double-engine government placing significant emphasis on. Compared to previous governments, in the last 11 years under the Modi government, Odisha has received a record amount of funds in the railway budget.
In today’s meeting, discussions were held on accelerating the work of the Jharsuguda-Barkote railway line, the new Angul-Talcher railway line, the Bargarh Road-Nuapada Road-Raipur railway line, the Talcher-Bimalagarh railway line, the much-awaited Khordha-Balangir railway line, the third and fourth railway lines between Sambalpur-Jarpada, and the vision of creating an outer coal corridor from Jarpada to Budhapank via Tentuloi.
A plan was also envisioned to connect a line from Bainda in Angul to the Balangir-Khordha line up to Boudh, which will function as a bridge. The proposed Talcher-Gopalpur railway line, connecting Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Nayagarh, and the Aska region of Ganjam, will strengthen Odisha’s railway network.
Special priority is being given to civic amenities and railway transport in Odisha’s coal-producing regions. Through these measures, railway lines will connect coal-producing areas to port regions. This will facilitate easier transportation of goods and contribute to the rapid industrialization of Odisha. Strengthening railway infrastructure will also help achieve the goal of a developed Odisha. It will further lead to progress in Odisha’s social, economic, and tourism sectors.
