A top-level delegation led by Ajay Vij, Country Managing Director, Accenture India met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here today and had an extensive discussion regarding the company’s plans for the state.

“We are excited to set up our presence in Bhubaneswar, a city which is home to leading educational institutions, a rapidly growing IT ecosystem and a rich talent pool. Bhubaneswar will join our large network of existing facilities to deliver transformative technology solutions for clients across the globe and expand our footprint in India,” said Vij.

The upcoming state-of-the-art facility in Bhubaneswar will expand Accenture’s global delivery network and develop and deliver transformative technology services for clients across industry sectors. The state government has offered 75,000 sq ft built up space in the capital city here to Accenture to operate its Global Development centre with 1,200 plus capacity, said the official.

Quote: BHUBANESWAR: Leading global audit, consulting and financial advisory firm Deloitte is likely to operationalise its Bhubaneswar technology development centre in November. Official sources said the consulting major will function from the iconic BMC Tower along Janpath. The company has rented a whopping 40,000 sq ft area in the tower to start its operation. This apart, multinational technology and innovation company IBM and some other global IT firms have also shown interest to open centres in Odisha as part of their business expansion plan. ...

Although there is no official word from Deloitte on recruitment, it is expected that the company will initially recruit more than 1,000 people in various positions, including auditing, assurance, consultancy, knowledge and other professional services. 

... In August, 5T Secretary VK Pandian and IT Secretary Manoj Mishra had visited the BMC Tower for timely completion of the work required to have new development centres of Deloitte and IBM.
